Celebrate America 250 at the Mayborn
As part of our celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the museum will host a special community event on Saturday, June 27, 2026, inviting guests to help create a collaborative quilt that reflects the many voices and stories that shape our nation.
During this one-day program in the museum rotunda, visitors of all ages can design a fabric square using provided materials and fabric markers, sharing what America means to them and highlighting their unique contributions to the American story. Each square will become part of a large, commissioned America 250 Community Quilt that will serve as a lasting visual tribute to our region’s creativity, heritage, and shared future.
The event is included with museum admission and is open to all ages. Community members are encouraged to stop by, add their square, and be part of this meaningful commemorative project.
